Close-to-home wanders

April & May, 2020

In this time of isolation (which we are slowly emerging from), I have lacked the motivation to write about my past travels. To do so has felt irrelevant and tone-deaf, and there is a sense of pointlessness about dreaming of adventures that – for the foreseeable future – are intangible.

What I have been doing more of, as many of us have, is getting out and exploring what I can – within the allowed travel distances, of course!

Hence, I have been wandering, for the first time, around the Western Sydney Parklands, and they are beautiful. I am so disappointed in myself, that while jetting off around the world, I completely ignored other lovely spots closer to home.

If anything, during this time, I have learnt to appreciate a little more what is close to me.
