Exploring Fingal Head

30th August, 2019

Fingal Head is gorgeous, and ain’t nobody gonna tell me otherwise.

While we were in the area, we decided to go for a wander up near the lighthouse, and boy, weren’t we glad that we did.

The lighthouse itself is quite pretty (see below), but the real beauty lies in what surrounds the lighthouse.

The walk up to the lighthouse takes you through the trees and offers some lovely views of the coastline along the way.

But when you do reach the lighthouse and emerge from the trees to see this, then really, you can’t complain, can you?

I sat down, relaxing as the breeze touched my face, and enjoyed the views and the excitement which burst forth every time a whale breached.

In the meantime, my parents went exploring and climbed out towards the edge of the headland to admire the hexagonal rocks below.

Making our way back to the car, we even made a friend along the way:

Not a bad way to start off the day!
